Background

  1. Utah is my heartland. I was born in Logan. My dad's folks were Bear River City dairy farmers. My grandmother, Ida May, was born in Orderville and taught at the little log cabin school house at Fruita near Torrey, now inside Capitol Reef National Park.
  2. Sixteen years at Ford Motor Company and Digital Equipment Corporation represent most of my corporate career. Subsequently, I spent 27 years on the road teaching over 300 organizational clients that there is power in WOW. It worked for them!
  3. Books I have written include Customer Astonishment: 10 Secrets to World-Class Customer Care and The Utah Cure: Three Days & Two Nights.
  4. Sharon and I semi-retired. While I worked part-time in the "outdoor outfitters" industry, we enjoyed spending more time with family and community. In our nifty motorhome, we explored the Intermountain area and reached nearly every corner of our Great State. We camped at 40 magical destinations that were inspiration for The Utah Cure. We created a small family retreat in our beloved Sanpete County.
  5. My life's work has been to spread the message of Customer Astonishment. My clients refer to me as a "spark plug." I would be pleased to have  a conference call with your community leaders to discuss new ways to kindle the fires of creativity to spread Utah's 2021 prosperity more widely across 29 counties.
